1.) Both biomes have low precipitation.
2.) Both have limited vegetation that has adapted to live with low rainfall.
3.) Both biomes generally have a thin layer of soil with little organic matter.
4.) Both biomes are quite fragile and easily damaged by human activities. Because of the low moisture, it takes many years for damaged areas to repair themselves.
The five major biomes are tundra, taiga, temperate deciduous forest, grasslands, and tropical rainforest. Each biome has distinct climate, fauna, and flora characteristics that differentiate it from the others.
Temperate Deciduous Forest Grassland Tundra Taiga Desert Savanna Tropical Rainforest This is a great website if you need to know about each of the biomes: http://www.deyabowersbiomes.zoomshare.com/
The temperate deciduous forest and grassland biomes typically have moderate precipitation levels. These biomes receive enough rainfall to support a variety of plant and animal species, but not as much as rainforests or tropical savannas.
Well they can in fact die at the same temperature, but it will simply take longer. The reason is, in the rain forest the humidity in the air is much much higher than in the desert. This means that the person will loose water from evaporation much faster in the desert than in the rain forest, which leads to them dying much quicker.
Having large leaves to capture sunlight in low-light conditions is an adaptation in a rainforest that would not be suitable in a desert where water conservation is more critical.
Dirt on the bottom and air on top. And that about it for simularities.
The desert and the rain forest are both located in hot areas.
