One of the primary differences between animal and plant cells is that plant cells have a cell membrane made up of cellulose. This helps the plant cells to allow high pressure to build inside of it, without bursting. A plant cell has to be able to accept large amounts of liquid through osmosis, without being destroyed. An animal cell does not have this cell wall. If you start to fill the animal cell with too much distilled water or other fluid, it will eventually pop.

Plant cells also are different from animal cells because they use photosynthesis to covert sunlight into needed food for the plant. Plant cells have chloroplasts, which has its own DNA, essentially directing the work of the chloroplasts.

Also plant cells, if one could view them under the microscope, appear extremely different than an animal cell because of the presence of a large vacuole, which exists in the cell's cytoplasm. It usually takes up most of the room in the cell, and the membrane of the cell encircles it. It contains waste materials, water, and nutrients that can be used or secreted as necessary.

a simpler awnser:

plant cells have a cell wall, cytoplasm, and a bigger vaculoe :)

What is one difference between the animal and plant cell?

One major difference between animal and plant cells is the presence of a cell wall in plant cells but not in animal cells. The cell wall provides structural support and protection in plant cells, while animal cells rely on other structures for support.

What is the main difference between animal and plant cells?

One main difference is that plant cells have a cell wall made of cellulose, while animal cells do not. Plant cells also contain chloroplasts for photosynthesis, which animal cells do not have. Additionally, plant cells typically have a larger central vacuole compared to animal cells.

Between which cell types is the difference greater-plant and animal cells or prokaryotic and eukaryote cells?

Although both have their differences, prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells have the greater difference. The only major differences between plant and animal cells is that plants have a vacuole, chloroplasts, and a cell wall, while animal cells do not. Plant cells produce their own food, while animal cells mist consume food to obtain energy. The difference between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells is much larger. Prokaryotic cells lack a nucleus and all other organelles. They have only one circular chromosome, and a plasmid. Eukaryotic cells are much more complex.

What is great different between plant and animal cell?

One key difference is that plant cells have a cell wall made of cellulose, while animal cells do not. Plant cells also typically have chloroplasts for photosynthesis, which animal cells lack. Additionally, plant cells often have a large central vacuole, while animal cells have smaller vacuoles.

What is the most noticeable difference between plant and animal cells?

One of the most noticeable differences between plant and animal cells is the presence of a cell wall in plant cells, which provides structural support and protection. Additionally, plant cells have chloroplasts for photosynthesis, while animal cells do not.

Which of the following statements correctly describes a difference between plant cells and animal cells?

differences between a plant and an animal cell include: Plant cells have a cell wall, but animals cells do not. Cell walls provide support and give shape to plants. ... Plant cells usually have one or more large vacuole(s), while animal cells have smaller vacuoles, if any are present.

What is the difference in shape between plant cells and animal cells?

Plant cells tend to be cubical in nature whereas animal cells tend to be spherical.

What is the difference between a plant cell and an animal cell?

Can lysosomes be considered as the difference between plant cells and animal cells?

yes, lysosomes are only contained within animal cells to hydrolyze macromolecules

What is observed in animal cells but not in plant cells?

Plant cells have a chloroplasts and also have a cell wall while animal cells do not. That is the only difference between the two kinds of cells.

What is the difference between animal cells?

1) Plant cells have cell wall which is absent in animal cell. 2) Plant cell lack centrioles whereas animal cells have centrioles.
