Taiga. Taiga has more trees then all the Rain Forests combined. Taiga has 1/3 of the earth's population of trees. Many people think that Rain Forest has the MOST trees but they don't. You may wonder How can such a cold place have 1/3 of the tree population? Well, the type of tree's that grow there are Confire's (Cone bearing trees). It may take up to 50 for a tree to grow up. That's long. Many animals at the taiga don't like the needles on the Confire's but Moose are and exception. It's so big that a lynx will never travel in the same forest twice. Now that's big. I hope I helped you out.

What trees are hardwood?

Hardwood trees are trees that produce seeds in some covering. Most of the time, the covering is a fruit or vegetable, eg. avocados. It is also a lot denser that softwood trees. Hardwood trees is the wood people use in furniture such as a table or chair. Don't think that because the name of the tree is 'hardwood', it means that the tree is hard, because all trees are hard, whether they're hardwood or softwood trees. thanks, i hope i helped you with your research on hardwood trees -melissa.P

Is the oldest tree in the world hardwood or softwood?

The terms coniferous and deciduous refer to trees, rather than particular kinds of forests. Forests described as coniferous or deciduous are those containing primarily those kinds of trees. Coniferous trees are trees which don't change over the seasons, like evergreens and other pine trees.

Where do hardwood trees grow?

They can grow anywhere other trees grow. Hardwoods are known as Conifers & they lose their leaves in the winter. Non hardwood trees, are call dicidous trees and dont lose their green in winter. Bamboo is a Grass not a wood at all & some hardwood trees are sofether than some Dicidous trees so its an imprecise designation.

Does hardwood come from coniferous trees?

yes thay do

What is the name of trees that produce hard wood?

That would depend on the type of hardwood, but generally, the name comes from the tree type. Hardwoods such as Red Cedar, Elm, Cherry, Balsa, Teak, Mahogany, Maple and Oak. There are hundreds of different trees hardwood can come from, despite their weight, such as Cedar and Balsa. Hardwood is measured in density.
