It depends on the organism and cell type. I will assume you mean the human and all cells in general. In this case generally, it is the production of ATP for use. Yes, creating ATP takes energy, and copious amount of it. The biggest problem is the leakage of H+ ion from the intermembrane space into the matrix, which the H+ pumps must constantly work against. This process creates heat, which is inefficient and also one reason why humans are warm-blooded.

What process is cellular respiration sort of the reverse of?

Cellular respiration is the reverse of photosynthesis. Cellular respiration uses oxygen and produces carbon dioxide, water and energy in the form of ATP. Photosynthesis uses sunlight as an energy source and produces oxygen and water.

What type of organism uses cellular respiration to produce energy?

Every living organism does. It is a fundamental process

What is the process by which energy is produced in animals?

Cellular Respiration, which takes place in the mitochondria.

Which process stores energy in cell?

Photosynthesis is a process in which cells use sunlight, carbon dioxide, and water to make food for energy. Cellular Respiration is the process in which the cell uses the food and releases that stored energy.

What uses energy from sunlight to convert water and carbon dioxide into glucose through the process of photosynthesis?

Cellular respiration.

What is the process that requires cellular energy to move a substance against its concentration gradient?

Active transport uses energy to move substances against the concentration gradient.

This is the process that releases energy by breaking down food molecules in the presence of oxygen.?

The glycolysis and the Krebs cycle uses the oxygen to break down the food molecules in order to release energy.

What is the process that uses up oxygen to release energy from food Carbon dioxide is produced as a waste product?

Cellular respiration

What is the process that uses energy to make glucose?

cellular respiration for mostly animals cells

What process uses oxygen in plants and animals?

Cellular Respiration.

Process your body uses when losing weight?

Its simple metabolism. Your body burns the fat molecules that are in your body for energy and ATP to drive cellular processes.

What is the function of of cellular respiration?

Cellular respiration which occurs in the mitochondrion of the cell generates energy in the form of ATP. This is as a result of the reaction of O2 and Glucose in the presence of enzymes to produce CO2, water and Energy.
