he observed how doctors in the 1840s went from patient to patient without washing their hands and therefore spreading disease. he was mostly looking at women in the maternity unit and he introduced washing your hands before surgery etc. unfortunately he was put in a mental asylum for early altzymers, in there he got beaten by staff and died from his injuries.
