Strictly speaking Moths only eat nectar (or nothing at all) because Moths are the adult, sexual stage in the life of the creature. The feeding stages of the creature's life take place during its Caterpillar stage when it may feed on a variety of plants or indeed wool, depending on the species. The adult Moth does not need to feed as it only survives long enough to breed and lay eggs, living of a food store it built up during its larval stage.
