Mine is not ! You must have just been born with the birth defect. It is common but those smaller tails tend to develop an incurable toe fungus, if you do not dry your feet after you get out of the shower. _ Fran Practon MD

My mother had an ingrown toenail on her big toe and let it go for months, even though it was painful. When she finally went to have something done, they found that her toenail had grown down toward the bottom of her toe around both sides of her toenail. So, the pain she felt was awful because with every step down, since her toenail was almost poking through the underneathe bottom of her big toe, it was unbearable pain. I think you have to cut the sides to prevent this from happening. Or have a doctor do it. Infection would make it so much worse. Get it checked out.
When an animal for example an elephant has a large surface area to volume ratio (big animals) it can lose heat easier which is an adaptation to survive the climate in which they live
you should, or it could get infected i would recommend going to the doctor to get it removed in an operation should only be about an hour
Put a bandaid on it for a couple of days and then it will come off easily.
Perhaps think about consulting a personal trainer at a gym and ask them for specific exercises to burn fat in this area and tone up big legs. It helped my sister do that just before her wedding.
