While your history is something you should go over with your eye doctor, most of the time painless black dots are often called floaters. You should be checked by your eye doctor if these dots have come on recently, or have gotten worse. Your eye doctor will evaluate if it is indeed just a floater or if it is something worse like a retinal detachment (that is very serious and needs immediate action)!
If you see small dots in your vision, it could be a sign of an eye condition. It's important to consult an eye doctor if you notice this symptom or any other changes in your eyesight.
The little dots in your vision are called floaters, which are usually harmless and common. However, if you suddenly see a lot of new floaters, flashes of light, or a shadow in your peripheral vision, it could be a sign of a serious eye condition. It's important to see an eye doctor promptly if you experience these symptoms.
It means seeing at 20 feet what a person with normal vision sees at 20 feet. A person who has 20/40 vision can see at 20 feet what the person with normal vision sees at 40 feet, etc. Some people have better than 20/20 vision.
Having 20/100 vision means that a person can see at 20 feet what someone with normal vision can see at 100 feet. This indicates poor visual acuity and may require correction with glasses, contact lenses, or surgery.
Having 20/10 vision means you can see at 20 feet what a person with normal vision can see at 10 feet. It indicates better than average vision and means you have sharper visual acuity.

I believe you are talking about the color blindness tests where the numbers are written in colored dots. Basically if you are not color blind you will see the numbers but if you are color blind then you will only see a bunch of dots.
If you mean the dots from under each book title, they represent the length of the book. Normal dots will tell you how long a book is, and as you read it the dots will become slightly larger (so you can see at a glance, from the homepage, if you're halfway through or just starting the book).
The phenomenon of seeing floating dots is known as visual snow, which is characterized by seeing tiny, moving dots in your field of vision. This can be caused by various factors such as migraines, eye problems, or neurological conditions. It is important to consult a healthcare professional for a proper diagnosis and treatment.

Color vision tests are done with charts that have one big circle made up of tiny dots of one certain color and within that circle there are dots of another color that make up a number. The colors of the dots vary from chart to chart and so do the numbers and letter. To test whether your color blind your shown a series of charts and asked what number you see. If you cant make a distinction between the colors then you wont be able to see the number that the different colored dots make up within the circle, therefore being color blind. If you can see the number then your good.
