The most common nucleic acid is Deoxyribonucleic acid which is shortened as DNA. DNA is the code of genetic instructions used in the developing and functioning of all living organisms. Then ribonucleic acid, RNA which consists of nucleotides that form a polymer. Each nucleotide consists of a nitrogenous base, 5 carbon sugar and phosphate group. It helps in translating genetic information from DNA. One type of RNA is the messenger RNA, mRNA which carries information from the DNA to the protein synthesis ribosomes. The transport RNA, tRNA is then used to collect the amino acids to create the protein. RNA have also been know to regulate any gene that is active. Hope this helps!
