Phospholipids in the cell membrane prevent water from entering a cell.
The cell membrane is semi-permeable, and will only let in certain things, but some water can still get in through osmosis.

The regulatory proteins that serve to prevent a cell from entering the S phase are called tumor suppressors. Tumor suppressors protect the cell that has DNA damage and stop it from moving to the next phase.
Hi there, The answer is practically everything. It keeps out water, blood, and all the other liquids in the body(i think that blood and water are the only 2 though.) When viruses attack a cell the cell wall is working as hard as it can to keep the DNA from entering, but the viruses are too strons. When you think about it, the cell wall is there for protection. If anything gets into the cell, it would most likely kill you or turn you into a zombie, which would start the zombie apocolips. Just kidding, but really, it is there for a good reason.---The Science Geek
It can prevent this from happening but if it does then the regulatory protein is not working correctly

Water
Plant cell does not have well developed internal organs for preserving water and for osmoregulatio so to prevent loss of water, and also to prevent entering of extra water they need cell wall, secondly they also need it as their first line defence against pathogens
No, because the plant cell contains a cell wall which causes the plant cell not to burst. But, it will gain water until it cannot take anymore and the pressure will prevent more water from entering.
