Nothing. The bladder is essentially a bag which stores urine, it is fed by the two kidneys and it drains out along the urethra, which passes through the prostate gland, then along the length of the penis and out through the small opening in its tip. During and ejaculation sperm travels from the testes along a tube called the vas deferens until it reaches the prostate gland, here the vas deferens connects with the urethra. Put simply the prostate gland acts rather like the points system on a railway track. When the penis is soft the prostate allows liquid from the bladder to pass along the urethra and out of the penis, when the penis is erect the prostate effectively stops the flow of urine and instead allows the flow of semen into the urethra and along the penis. This mechanism prevents the two fluids from mixing, this is necessary as urine is quite effective as a spermicide.

What is the function of the erectile tissue?

The corpus spongiosum is the the cylinder of soft tissue that runs inferior to the corpus cavernosa. It extends from the bulb of the penis (or bulbo spongiosum) and at the distal end is continuous with the head of the penis. Through the center of the corpus spongiosum runs the urethra. While the corpus cavernosa become very solid, to form the support for the penis, the corpus corpus spongiosum remains relatively soft. This allows it to hold the urethra open so the semen can easily be released.

What processes take place during the period after the blood enters the kidneys till the urine leaves the body?

Blood flows to the kidney through the renal artery. Once in the kidney the blood flows through a series of smaller and smaller arteries until it gets to the glomerulus. The glomerulus filters blood and to be very simplistic creates a filtrate of the blood or "urine". This urine then flows through a series of progressively bigger tubules and ducts until it gets to the renal pelvis. At this point urine exits the kidney, it enters the ureter (long tube connecting kidney and bladder), and flows into the bladder where it is held until one desires to urinate. At this time urine flows out of the bladder and into the urethra. The urethra connects the bladder to the outside of the body.

What surrounds the urethra at the base of the bladder producing milky alkaline fluid?

The paired BULBOURETHRAL GLANDS (COWPER'S GLANDS) are tiny pea-sized glands located inferior to the prostate gland, on each side of the urethra. They produce a thick, clear mucus which is released prior to ejaculation when a male first becomes sexually aroused. The secretion is alkaline, so it neutralizes traces of acidic urine in the urethra. It also serves as a lubricant during sexual intercourse.

Can urine damage sperm?

How would you get the two mixed?? Just because they use the same exit from the body ie the urethra, they are produced and stored in separate parts of the body and during sex the sphincter at the exit of the bladder is tightly closed.... this is why it is so difficult to pee if you have an erection

Is it safe to pee in the girl during sex?

There are muscles that prevent urine flow during erection, making urinating during sexual arousalor erection essentially impossible. These muscles will only allow semen flow through the urethra during male sexual arousal and at male ejaculation.
