What is the biome that has nutrient rich soil and is most often used for agriculture?

The deciduous forest has the most fertile soil because the leaves that fall each year during Autumn decay on the forest floor, allowing nutrients to leach into the soil. Deciduous forest soil gains nutrients at a sustainable rate. Compared to the rain forest, which has surprisingly very infertile soil, because the massive amount of decaying organic material is quickly turned into nutrients that plants very quickly consume, leaving the soil depleted and acidic.

What are synthetic corks made of?

This post does not directly answer the question posed, but opens an issue that is relevant to their use. I have a concern about the increasing use of synthetic plastic wine corks, quite apart from the sustainability aspect of the argument. Plastic corks are most likely impregnated with plasticiser chemicals, to render the cork malleable and (I guess) to provide lubrication for their insertion into the neck of a wine bottle. Of course, corks made from the natural material do not need chemical intervention apart from sterilisation - they are naturally malleable. My concern, felt for some time now, is that the plasticiser in synthetic corks may leach into the wine on prolonged contact - I do not know if this aspect of their use has been looked into. I remember that there was a scare some years ago, about the migration of plasticisers in PVC cling film into the food it was used to protect. This resulted in the launch of a few 'safer' alternatives, appearing to justify these concerns, but the whole issue melted away through apathy, and remains inexplicably quiet. Does anyone have any knowledge of any work that has been done in this area, to establish whether the use of synthetic corks in wine bottles is toxicologically safe?

What is a bony spur?

A bone spur (also called osteophyte)is a shart protrusion from a bone. Bone spurs can be extremely painful, quite difficult to identify, and very small in size, but they are large enough to pinch at tiny nerves which causes pain. =What Causes Bone Spurs?= Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the body but may also be the most deficient. The amount of calcium that we absorb from our food varies widely. Our age is one factor. An adolescent may absorb up to 75% of the calcium obtained from foods, while in adults the maximum absorption rate ranges from 20% to 30%. Even though our bones feel solid and seem permanent they're just like any other body tissue - they're constantly being broken down and formed again. In an adult, 20 percent of bone calcium is withdrawn from bones and replaced each year. Thus, every five years the bones are renewed. Calcium is found in the extra cellular fluids and soft tissues of the body where it is vital to normal cell functioning. Much of the calcium in soft tissues is concentrated in muscle, although it is contained in the membrane and cytoplasm of every cell. When the body is deficient of calcium it begins to leach calcium from the bones. In many people this happens to be in the heel of the foot or some other weak area of the body. As the calcium is being leached, it forms an eruption (similar to a volcano). This eruption is the bone spur.
