Along with these hopeful possibilities, stem cell research engenders fears of human cloning and serious concerns over the ethics of conducting scientific research on, which includes the destruction of, human embryos.

Stem cell research could potentially become extremely helpful in finding a cure for major diseases and injuries. What scientist are trying to do with stem cell research is basically develop new organs or other features using the cells from an unborn embryo. these would hopefully create and form a new healthy part or area of the affected or injured body so that that person can recover.

Embryonic stems cells are very controversial though because some people think that to get the cells you would have to end a life. A human embryo though is unborn and pretty much serves no other purpose, it is saving a life instead. Because this form is controversial scientists are now trying to successfully create a new form of stem cell that is created from other sources. They are now trying to use bone marrow cells from healthy living humans and transfer those into healthy stem cells. So to answer the question. Stem cells are currently cells taken from a human embryo and converged into the type of cell that is needed for the certain patient. In my opinion stem cells will be a great cure to injury and to disease in the future when the stem cell scientist find the correct way to grow and use them.
