The control in an investigation is something that is not changed in an experiment.
Lets say you have and experiment were you are applying sunlight to plants to see how much sunlight affects the plant. The Sunlight will be the VARIABLE (what is changed) and if you are using the same type of plant, The plant would be the CONTROL.
A control was used in the investigation of amphipods and sea butterflies to provide a baseline for comparison. By having a control group of organisms that were not exposed to the same conditions as the experimental group, researchers were able to measure the effects of the specific variables being tested. This helps to determine if changes observed in the experimental group were due to the variables being studied or other factors.
The lifeblood of any investigation is gathering and analyzing evidence. This includes collecting information, conducting interviews, examining physical evidence, and following leads to uncover the truth behind a case. Without solid evidence, an investigation may struggle to reach a conclusion or bring about justice.
A new concept that is tested in a scientific investigation is known as a hypothesis. This is a proposed explanation for a phenomenon that can be tested through experiments or observations to determine its validity.
The discovery of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) did not have a significant impact on the field of nuclear DNA research, as they are separate and distinct areas of investigation. Mitochondrial DNA is mainly used for studying maternal ancestry and evolutionary relationships within populations.
To conduct an investigation means to gather information, analyze evidence, and make conclusions about a particular situation or incident. It typically involves collecting data, interviewing witnesses, and following a predefined process to uncover the truth or resolve a dispute.

An investigation in science that is controlled is an experiment. The group within the experiment that is controlled is the control group.
Control
I will change the independent variable in my investigation. This variable is the one I manipulate or control to observe its effect on the dependent variable.
The answer depends on the nature of the investigation. The answer depends on the nature of the investigation. The answer depends on the nature of the investigation. The answer depends on the nature of the investigation.
