Elongation of the stem is the "streaching" of the stem, this occurs between the nodal points and if controlled by growth regulating hormones (such as gibberillins).

Etiolation is the term used to describe the excessive streaching of the stem; this is normally caused by low light conditions or over crowded conditions.

I am currenly learning this in Science our teacher is not the best and i need to know more i am not very happy with this answer and would like it improved thank you
