The xiphoid process is found in the upper abdomen. In the lower abdomen, the only bony prominence found is just as you enter the pelvis, at the upper anterior pelvic brim is the symphisis pubis (or pubic symphisis), a cartilaginous joint where the two pelvic bones meet anteriorly.
