In plant cells, there are organelles throughout the cell called chloroplasts. Inside these organelles are chlorophyll, which takes in sunlight. The chemical process is represented by this reaction called photosynthesis: 6CO2+6H2O=C6H12O6+6O2. This is six carbon dioxide molecules plus six water molecules equal one molecule of glucose (sugar) and six molecules of oxygen gas. The plant uses the glucose created in photosynthesis as its source for energy, aka food.

You might be talking about chlorophyll in the chloroplasts. The chlorophyll absorbs the sunlight. It also takes in carbon dioxide and water. Oxygen and glucose are released. This is the process of photosynthesis, where everything takes place in the chloroplast. :)

What kind of chemical change occurs in green plants whe the manufacture food?

The chemical change that occurs in green plants when they manufacture food is known as photosynthesis. Chloroplasts within plant cells absorb energy from the sun, which is then used to create ATP molecules to store chemical energy for later use.
