Adenine, guanine, cytosine, and thymine are the bases in DNA. Adenine and guanine are purines and cytosine and thymine are pyrimidines. Uracil is a base of RNA. It is a pyrimidine. During protein synthesis, when the mRNA is coded, thymine is replaced with uracil. During DNA replication, the opposite of each base will be used. Adenine attaches with thyimine and guanine attaches with cytosine. Helicase is the enzyme that assists this process.
