The scientific name for the lower leg is the "crus" or "leg proper."
bones ate tibia and fiblua the anatomical name is the crural
Of the two bones in the lower human leg, the tibia is the longer and the fibula is narrower. The tibia is the main weight-bearing bone and the fibula allows the rotation of the foot. The tibia is also called the shin bone. If you are eating a chicken drumstick, the tibia is what you are holding. The fibula is that little splinter of a bone that runs about 2/3 of the way down. Tibia is Latin for "flute" because long hollow bird tibias could be carved into flutes...you might be able to make a piccolo out of a chicken tibia.
The long narrow bone in the lower part of your leg is called the fibula.
The two lower leg bones are called the tibia and fibula. The tibia is the larger and weight-bearing bone located on the inner side of the leg, while the fibula is thinner and situated on the outer side of the leg.
If it is below the inner thigh, it has to be the lower leg and if about the knee is the thigh, itself. There is no name for what you described.
There is no scientific name other than "thigh", which is in such common usage that it just doesn't sound very scientific, but it is. Note that the lower leg's scientific name is "crus". In anatomical terminology the "leg" is only that part of the body between the knee and the ankle and what we commonly called the leg is "the lower extremity".

The scientific name for the inner thigh is the adductor muscle. Leg scissors exercises are a good way of toning up the inner thigh. Simply lie on one side with your head supported by one arm, your elbow on the floor and the other arm down by your side. Slowly lift the leg on top as high as you can, hold for a few seconds then lower your leg. Repeat several times then turn around and do the opposite leg.
The scientific name for the upper leg bone is the femur, I don't think it gets anymore scientific then that. -jaz
