Marigolds have a fibrous root system. Other examples of a fibrous root system are grasses and clovers. This is totally wrong marigolds are a dicot and cannot have a fibrous root system, so are clovers, grasses do have a fibrous system, will you please check your facts before you post this type of information, i have college kids coming to this site for answers and it is not a good source, so if anybody form AGN 1240 from Olds college comes to this page DO NOT use this site for your answers for Kens lab and stay away from wikipedia as well as it is not a good site, go to botany class type pages from universities.

Marigold being a dicot has tap root system to begin with. At later stages of growth some adventitious roots also come out from the lowermost stem nodes to provide better anchorage and absorption.
