In the movie Gattaca, Anton and Jerome have a complex relationship. Anton is genetically superior but lacks the determination and drive that Jerome possesses. Jerome, on the other hand, is genetically inferior but has the ambition and intellect to succeed. Their relationship is marked by jealousy, competition, and ultimately, a sense of mutual respect as they navigate the challenges of their society.
Vincent maintained his 'Jerome' identity by shaving his body hair daily and wearing colored contact lenses to hide his natural eye color.
Cri Du Chat syndrome was first discovered by a Frenchman, a geneticist named Jerome Lejeune in the year 1963. He was also a pro-life pediatrician who helpe in the discovery of the connection between chromosome abnormalities and diseases. He devoted a major part of his career treating children affected by Down's syndrome.
Well I wondered the same thing a while back and upon researching ran across one of their drummers, Wally Gator Watson. I emailed him through his website and asked if he was the drummer for this song. He said no, Bernard Purdie recorded that song. So there you have it, from a very reliable source! Wally was actually being modest when he answered you. Mr. Purdie was the drummer on that recording, but Wally also contributed to that recording on the drums. Wally had just started playing for the Stairsteps. His first gig with them was at the Cheetah Club in NYC the night before they actually recorded O-o-h Child. They had Wally play as well so his name could be on the recording. I know about this because Wally and I were very dear friends for many years and were actually working on his memoirs together before he died. That story is in his memoirs. Wally spent the last 20 years or so of his life drumming for the Lionel Hampton Orchestra. Wally died in September 2010, and Mr. Purdie, whom I've never met but whom Wally had tremendous respect and admiration for, now drums for the Lionel Hampton Orchestra. The story seems to have come full circle.
Vincent is considered an in-valid. Jerome is a valid. Vincent needed Jerome's genes to work at Gattaca.

Jerome's medal is silver.
In the movie "Gattaca," Jerome Morrow is a former swimming champion who works as a caretaker for genetically superior individuals. He provides his genetic identity to Vincent, the protagonist, so that Vincent can assume his identity and pursue his dreams of space travel despite his inferior genetics.
***MAJOR SPOILER***At the end of Gattaca, Jerome Eugene Morrow committed suicide. He managed to climb into the furnace where Vincent Freedman had burned his (Vincent's) cells and turned it on, thus killing himself and destroying all evidence that there was more than one Jerome Morrow.
In "Gattaca," the main character Vincent Freeman uses the alias "Jerome Eugene Morrow" to infiltrate the elite space program. Jerome is a genetically superior individual who provides his identity to Vincent in exchange for a chance to live vicariously through him. Additionally, other characters, such as Anton Freeman (Vincent's brother) and Irene Cassini, also navigate their identities within the constraints of a society that heavily emphasizes genetic perfection.
Eugene
Vincent first enters Gattaca by using a disguise and assuming the identity of a genetically elite individual named Jerome Morrow. He obtains Jerome's DNA and credentials, allowing him to bypass the stringent security measures in place at the space agency. This deception is crucial for Vincent, who was born naturally and deemed "in-valid," as he seeks to fulfill his dream of traveling to space. His entrance highlights the film's themes of identity and the social hierarchy based on genetic engineering.
