How do you get rid of toenail fungus-?

Mix tea oil with henna and put it on affected areas. --- Toenail fungus can actually be very difficult to treat. Since the fungus lives under the toenail, it is hard to get to it. The best treatment will actually depend on how severe the infection is and what kind of medicines you prefer to take. If you catch it early, there are some very good topical treatments you can use. Some are all natural and some have active ingredients. If the infection is severe and nothing else is working, you should talk to your doctor. The prescription pills have some very extreme side effects, so I would only use those as a last option. The web site below has a lot more information. There is also a link at the bottom to go to a review of 2 products you can start with at home.

Can you go to the nail salon if you have a nail fungus?

Do not listen to the person that said Vicks Vaporub is a cheap solution to toenail fungus. I know from experience that nothing topical works. I had toenail fungus for over 10 years I tried countlessways to get rid of it to no avail. I am now on an oral medication which I'e been taking for close to 3 months and for the first time in over 10 years I am seeing my toe nails back to normal, but I must continue to take for 2 1/2 months more for a total of 6 months.

How do you get ingrown toenails?

onychocryptosis It is where the sides of the toenail start to grow into the skin. This can happen if the nails are cut improperly causing irregular growth. A doctor may remove the entire nail and let it grow back again. Shoes that are too tight in the toes can also contribute to having this occur.

What is this black stuff in my big toenail it doesn't hurt at all its just in the nail?

It is probably just old blood (in other words, a bruise) from where you banged your toe at some point. It will go away as your toenail grows out. It is not dangerous. Another condition that affects toenails is "fungus" but that usually turns your toenail a whitish or yellowish color. It is probably NOT blood. I had a black area in my toenail that I ignored. Turned out to be a form of mold in the Pencillium species. Most probably Penicillium chrysogenum. My problem is after that my nail started to lift up and have stuff UNDER the nail. This may be more of a characteristic of fungus, however penicillin is a close relative but it is easier to treat. Doctor gave me itraconazole (Sporanox) Three months is all it's going to take. I can wear sandals this summer!

Is it ok to go swimming with toenail fungus?

I would say no, not because it would hurt your infection, but because you would spread it to everybody else who is swimming in the pool. You should just work on curing your infection, then going swimming.

Will vinegar kill toenail fungus?

I have had some success using hydrogen peroxide for toenail fungus. Both big toenails and my left little toenail were almost black and painful to the touch. I started applying peroxide (just about the cheapest thing in the drugstore) to my nails, holding them up slightly to allow the peroxide to go under the nails. The stuff bubbles up and certainly appears to be doing something. I did this day and night for a couple of months and one of my large toenails and the little one cleared up completely. The other toenail has never cleared up but is definitely better. I am still applying the peroxide daily and it's under control but still noticeable. It sure won't cost you much to try this remedy and it can't hurt you, so why not try it? The medicine Lamisil which doctor's prescribe is about $300 a month and most insurance won't cover it. Good luck!
