I apply the rule of what makes something a living organism (since all biotic factors should be living). The three main characteristics of living organisms are the ability to grow and reproduce, as well as made of at least one or more cells. Once the wood or any other material that was once living in your house becomes disconnected from its energy source (for example roots for trees which soak up nutrients or leaves that absorb sunlight), it has become abiotic. It can no longer grow or reproduce.
Hair is biotic factor because even though it may seem dead it is still a living factor on your body.
Corpse is biotic because it was once living. Biotic = something that is living, or that lived at one time (animal, plant, bug) Abiotic = nonliving things (dirt, air, rock, water)
Well, isn't that a lovely question! Furniture is considered abiotic because it is made from non-living materials like wood, metal, and fabric. Even though furniture doesn't grow or reproduce like living things, it still brings warmth and comfort into our homes, just like a happy little tree in a painting.
Bread is an abiotic feature of the world. Biotic means living or once lived. Abiotic means not living.
A dead human is considered abiotic because the processes of life have ceased, including metabolism and growth. At this stage, a dead human body undergoes decomposition and returns to the earth through natural processes.
They are biotic because they have lived and they still are

No branches are not abiotic because they are still connected to the tree and the tree is biotic(living) meaning things connected to it are also biotic . The Greek who made up the abiotic and biotic factors say that even if some thing was alive and is no longer thought of alive it is still thought of as biotic because the fact that at one time it was alive.
Abiotic:DAbiotic = not livingBiotic = living
People study biotic and abiotic because, in-order to find out what use to live decades ago or would like to know what kind of animals are still living :)

A dead log would be considered biotic because it was once a living organism. Even in its deceased state, the dead log is still composed of organic matter and can support the growth and activity of other organisms, such as fungi and insects.

Yes, paper is boitic. The reason is simple. -Because abiotic is non-living factors ( meaning factors that have never lived before ) Biotic are factors that are living or have lived. Ex. A tree is a living thing. When we cut it down into paper, it dies, but it is still biotic. So,yes: paper is biotic.
