The bacteria or any foreign particel to enter the human body have to cross many barriers and they are classified as line of defence

Skin is the first line of defence and it work as physical barrier for all the microbes and particle. Skin has many secreatory products which kill the bacteria also.

Then there comes some internal barriers like mouth which secreate cell disolving enzymes, eyes which secreat lacrymal secreations which act on bacteria to destroy it in stomach low pH and many bile salts are responsible for the prevention of bacteria to attack. These all comes under non-specific defence mechanism

Then there comes second and third i.e. last line of defence which is cell midiated and are done my immune organs and tissue like lymphnodes, spleen etc. and the cell are basophill eosinophill, neutrophill, Natural killer cells granulocytes like macrophages etc.

What does the body do to stop bacteria from entering it?

One way the body keeps microbes from entering the body is by the skin, the skin is considered a barrier. That is why when a person gets an injury that breaks the skin the first layer of defence is considered broken. Also the hair and mucous mucus in a persons nose prevent microbes from entering by trapping them . ^ Thats all a lie. This is not a lie at all. It is a very truthful and precise answer, I should know; I am a doctor!!

What will a bacterium entering the body through a small cut in the skin do?

A bacterium entering the body through a small cut in the skin may cause an infection at the site of entry. The body's immune system will likely respond by sending white blood cells to the area to fight off the bacteria. If the immune response is not sufficient, the infection may spread and lead to further complications.
