Your glasses prescription is designed to place the prescription right in the center of your vision or your visual axis, any deviation from this geometrical/optical center will be a deviation from your actual prescription. Depending on your prescription, the vision should indeed be 'not as clear' or 'blurry' when you look through an area that is not the center.

The eye goes blurry for many reasons, such as when one looks at light (the sun) or when one puts pressure on it, because the eye is sensitive to those two things.

When should you get eyeglasses?

I recommend you consider eyeglasses when you begin to find that your vision is getting blurry, that your having problems seeing things that are far away or when you can't see things up close that well. I found out I needed glasses when I noticed that I couldn't see that well through one of my eyes so that could be something to look out for as well. But before you head off to an Optician (someone who sells glasses), you need to see an Optometrist (someone who examines your eyes and can prescribe glasses for you if necessary). If the Optometrist says that you need glasses, they will fill out a prescription for your glasses. After they give you your prescription, you have to bring the prescription to an Optician so that they can order or make the specific glasses you need (Some Opticians are capable of making your glasses within an hour while others have to order them for you so that you can pick them up when they are ready). A few other things you should look out for in your vision is if you see doubles, if people are telling you that you are crossing your eyes when you don't feel like you are and if you feel constant headaches.

Why do old people's reading glasses look blurry?

Glasses are optics which are designed specifically for the owner. They correct the focal length of the light projected on the retina on the back wall of the eyeball. If your eyeball is not the same shape of depth as the person who owns the glasses then the image seen through them will appear to be out of focus to you. It is not wise to use anothers glasses since the muscles in your eye will attempt to correct the image and may strain them in doing so.

Can you use a 3D laptop without the glasses Obviously you wont see the 3D images but will the screen be blurry Specifically the Origin PC Eon 17-s?

I don't know that brand and I have never used a 3d laptop but there should be a switch or an option to toggle the 3d playback of the screen if it were going to make the screen blurry without the special glasses.
