You didn't say where you live or why you came to the conclusion bees actually go to the ocean to die. I'm guessing you're asking because walking along the oceans edge you may have noticed large numbers of dead bees washing up on shore? I have occasionally seen this while living in Hawaii.

Hawaii is a major hub for all honey bee products and bee breeding so it only follows there will be large numbers of bees in the area near the sea. One bee hive contains 60,000 bees and a worker bee lives an average of 4 to 6 weeks so it's only natural for many of these bees to simply die as they are foraging. They could fall onto the sand and be swept by wind or wave to the large numbers you see at the edge of the shore. Or fall into the ocean, float and be pushed to shore. The ocean air currents and spray can also be deadly as once a bee has landed on the water without the ability to climb up onto something to dry its wings it will eventually drown. Bees will not cross large expanses of water but like to fly along the edge of water. It's not that they actually go to the ocean to die. Hope this helps?

Another possibility is that the bees didn't go to the ocean to die, they went there to drink. Like all other animals, bees need water. However, although they are brilliant fliers, they can't swim, so if the water is too deep for them to stand and drink they will drown.

Do bees smell fear?

No, bees do not have the ability to smell fear. Bees primarily rely on their sense of smell to communicate within the hive and locate food sources. Fear is an emotional response that humans experience, but it is not something that bees can detect.

Do bees die when they sting you?

Some species of bee, such as the honey bee, will die after stinging a person as the stinger is barbed and is torn from their adomen in the process of stinging you. However not all species of bee have a barbed stinger and may be able to sting you repeatedly and live.

Where can a carbon atom from Earth's atmosphere go next?

A carbon atom from Earth's atmosphere can go next into living organisms through photosynthesis, into the ocean through absorption, or into the soil through decomposition.

Why would it be bad if bees stopped collecting nectar to make honey?

If bees stopped collecting nectar to make honey, it would disrupt their natural process of storing food for the colony to survive through the winter. This could weaken the bee colony as they rely on honey as their primary food source. Additionally, honey is essential for bees to regurgitate and feed the larvae, impacting their reproduction and overall population health.

Which term describes the relationship between bees and flowering plants?

You might want to know, why do bees, butterflies, and wasps go to flowers? Is it the color? The smell? Or is it something else? Well all of these are partly right! Insects like flowers for these reasons... 1. Bees and Wasps and Butterflies drink the sweet juice there. Does anyone know what it is called? That is right! It is called nectar! The nectar is very sweet. Do you know what else eats nectar? Hummingbirds! The hummingbirds love the nectar. The bees also use the nectar to make honey. Do you like honey? It comes from bees and flowers. a. But, why do insects go to flowers? How many of you have seen all kinds of flowers! Can you tell me something about them? That is right they are colorful! Flowers come in many different shapes and sizes. The bright colors attract the insects to the flowers. If a bee likes one color better, then there are plenty of flowers for him to got to. While if Mr. Bee 2 likes a different color, he has plenty for him to go to. b. The other reason that insects go to flowers, besides for food and the color and shape is... That is right! The smell. Flowers smell so good! Have you ever smelled a rose? Some people dry flowers and put them in places so that they can smell them. Most flowers smell good. Well some of them anyway. Have you ever heard of the Corps flower? It stinks so bad! It smells like a dead animal! When the insects come, do they help the flower? Yes! The insects do help, by picking up pollen. Pollen is the yellow or orange powder that make us sneeze in the spring. Bees travel from flower to flower, collecting nectar (which is later converted to honey), and in the process they pick up pollen grains. The bee collects the pollen by rubbing against the anther. The pollen is collected on the hind legs, in dense hairs referred to as a pollen basket. As the bee flies from flower to flower, the pollen grains are transferred onto the stigma. This helps the flowers make seeds, and fruit trees make fruit.
