Because when the new seed falls to Earth, it lies in the sand - to wait perhaps another five years for rain and the brief repetition of its life cycle.

How do the effects of acid rain on trees and soil affect the US?

Anthony Campo's bird nest. aka his buffalo fro. Acid rain causes the soil to turn to an acidic state, which involves the pH level to decrease. Just like human skin, lower the pH level is, the more harm it would cause to our skin cells. Plants like trees, bushes...etc. can only survive or live normally under a certain amount of acid which is usually neutral. (lowest, -1.0 = Hydrochloric acid. highest, 13.5 = household lye) This is because when acid rain pours, the soil turn acidic which is impossible for plants to live in. With US being a huge nation with large amount of plantations, when acid rain falls, trees get affected and die or do not produce as much fruits/flowers as they normally do. Therefore the plantation owners do not earn as much as the used to and the entire economic state of the US will experience a down slide. Does sweat excrete through the pours of the skin?

Sweat is excreted through sweat glands, not pores. Sweat glands release sweat onto the skin's surface where it evaporates, helping to regulate body temperature. Pores are tiny openings in the skin through which hair grows.

What pollution is it called when at a research lab a scientist carelessly pours cultures of living moicrobes down the drain?

This type of pollution would be called microbial pollution or microbiological pollution. It can negatively impact the environment by introducing potentially harmful microorganisms into water bodies through the drainage system. This can disrupt ecosystems and pose risks to human health if the microbes are pathogenic.

Can a snail live without oxygen?

Slug and other gastropods have what's called an open respiratory system. Humans, for comparison, have a closed respiratory system. Essentially, slugs "breathe" through the pours of their skin. Oxygen enters and carbon dioxide exits.

Is glycolysis part photosynthesis?

Glucose is the main basic energy storage molecule. It is also the basis for many other compounds, like the cell wall, and starch that is made during photosynthesis. The process of photosynthesis doesn't require glucose. Photosynthesis is the process of plants converting carbon dioxide from the air and water to usable energy (in the form of glucose), with oxygen as a waste product. The word equation for it is as follows: carbon dioxide + water -------------------------------------------> glucose + oxygen chlorophyll sunlight (6CO2+6H2O+light energy=C6H12O6+6O2) The words chlorophyll and sunlight are written underneath the equation because they are the conditions that are required for photosynthesis to take place. Energy is provided by the sun, and chlorophyll is the green chemical within the leaf where photosynthesis takes place. Photosynthesis takes place at its fastest during warm, sunny days when there is plenty of sunlight, presuming the soil is moist. Photosynthesis does not occur at night when there is no sunlight.
