When the egg is fertilized it grows into a seed and the ovary around the seed grows into a form that provides protection and transporation for the seeds.
There are a lot of different kinds of fruits, too, that you might not realize are fruits. You should try searching "fruit types" in Google images to get an idea of all the different ways fruits can grow.
