if trees were to grow under other trees , there would be a a mixture in the roots of the trees ,which will make it impossible for the trees to grow properly....i think that is why trees tend not to grow under other trees...

It is the north pole holds 1/3 of the worlds trees.------------------------------------------ I doubt if that is true. Most trees will grow where the climate is not too severe, as at the Poles or in Deserts. However they do grow well in most other parts of the world.
i believe this is because as the tree grows upwards and outwards, the leaves that were there before die as they receive no sunlight, and are basically useless. the trees grows up and out, so produces shade over these leaves. you can see well developed trees regrowing lower leaves when they grow so tall that the very base of the tree is not covered by sahde, and shoots grow out and leaves grow too.
It is a matter of moisture. Grasslands have lower moisture levels and climates that do not support trees. Trees do however grow along creeks and rivers that pass through grasslands.
well if you dont know, dont care !
Apple trees do not grow well in ANY forest. They need sunlight to grow well.
