Why is the nervous system considered the master control unit inside your body?

The brain and the nervous system is master control unit of your body. It receives almost 15 %of your blood supply. 20 %of body glucose is consumed by brain. It is composed of over 100 billions of neurons. Each neuron may have from few hundred to 2,00,000 dendrites through which it receive signals and are transmitted via axons which have many branches. There interconnections that are very complicated. Science knows only about gross structures and very less is known about complexity of there connections. The brain receives millions of sensory bits of information and process them. Between these connections information is transmitted via many neurons. It performs intellectual functions like thinking, reasoning, imagination and memory. It performs all emotional functions and functions of the automatic nervous system are indirectly performed by brain. It receives information about surroundings through sensory stimuli from eyes, nose, ears, mouth and skin,and processes it and acts according through the motor system.(Muscle system.)
