i thought it was that the "cardiac" stomach provided energy for the cardiovascular system, but im not sure.
Because it is near the cardia, which is the anatomical term for the part of the stomach attached to the oesophagus.
Why is the lower esophageal sphincter also called cardiac sphincter get it name because it is not near the heart.
The function of the cardiac sphincter is to prevent a back flow of materials back into the esophagus. The cardiac sphincter closes to allow the food to stay within the stomach so it can be digested. Cardiac sphincter, working with the pyloric sphincter keeps the stomach content from moving elsewhere.
The bottom of the stomach is the pyloric area, with the pyloric sphincter separating the stomach from the duodenum (first portion of the small intestine). The top of the stomach is the cardiac area with the cardiac sphincter. The pre-pyloric area is the area just above the phyloric sphincter where they do biopsies to test for an H-Pylori infection. The pyloric area consists of two parts the pyloric canal and the pyloric antrum.
Sphincters are muscular valves found throughout the body used to open or close an opening. An example is the cardiac sphincter which prevents food from coming back up the esophagus after swallowing
The pyloric sphincter, in the top of the stomach, prevents acid and food from coming back up your esophagus, even when upside down.
Movement of food from oral cavity to stomach.Helps them swallow their food.Swallows the food.it moves food toward the stomach by muscular peristaltic contractions and by the beating of cilia that line its internal surface. The function of a frog's esophagus is to transfer food down to the frogs stomach.the frogs esophagus is where food goes through before entering the stomach.the frogs esophagus moves food to the stomach by way of cilia.
There is a valve called the Cardiac Sphincter at the top of the stomach that keeps food from coming back out of the mouth.
It is the valve at the top of the stomach. It's job is to keep food from leaving the stomach and coming back up into the esophagus.

I can think of 5 off the top of my head. Cardiac Sphincter at the top of the stomach. Pyloric Sphincter at the distal end of the stomach. Ileocecal Valve that separates the Small and Large intestines and the Internal and External Anal sphincters.

The cardiac sphincter is located at the top of the stomach and controls the direction of food passing through the esophagus so that no food will re enter the esophagus. The Pyloric sphincter stops bile and digested food from entering the stomach, this valve is located at the bottom of the stomach.
Both the upper and lower ends of the stomach have a sphincter that regulates flow into and out of the stomach. The lower esophageal sphincter is at the top of the stomach, and the pyloric sphincter is at the lower end of the stomach.
there 2 kinds of sphincters the cardiac and pyloric the cardiac prevents the bolus from going back to the oesophagus cardiac sphincters allows the bolus to enter the stomach the pyloric sphincters prevents food from going to the duodenum the pyloric sphincter allows the chyme to enter the duodenum hope it was helpful :)
The spincters located in the esophagus are: the upper sphincter at the top and the lower (the cardiac sphincter) at the bottom of the esophagus. They regulate the food passing through the esophagus.
At the top of the stomach where it connects to the esophagus is a sphincter. At the lower end of the stomach where it connects to the small intestines is a second sphincter. Both of these openings will open to let material pass through, then close to prevent back-flow. Acid Reflux occurs when stomach acids leak through the faulty sphincter and the acids irritate the esophagus.

To hold the food within the stomach there are two valves. At the top of the stomach is the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) which prevents backsplash of stomach contents upward into the esophagus. At the bottom of the stomach is the pyloric which controls the "drain" of the stomach.
