How do you get your bird to love you?

you don't get him to like you, they do or they don't. go around them often, let them "get to know you". the younger you acquire them the better. they normally attach to one human, although it is normally recommended that it is more than one person. also, normally males greys tend to bond more with women than men and vice versa for the females. my grey like me (i'm a female he's a male). when male friends come over, he growls at almost all of them. he only growls at females occasionally. there are some greys though that are way more outgoing and will go to anyone. lastly, working with them day after day is the best way- have bonding time.

African greys are as intelligent as a four or five year old child, they are messy, sensitive, and need to be trained properly to be good. you need to spend lots of time with them each day, constant interaction. Just think: leaving them alone for a very long time is just like leaving a toddler alone a lot.

DIET:

they need lots of vegetables, like carrots, grapes, apples, spinach, corn, etc. they can also have bread. just NEVER EVER EVER FEED THEM AVOCADO. that will kill it. other than the veggies, they can have a foundation of pellet food, and some seed mix. just dont make them eat seeds all the time.

also they should be showered every day due to the dander their feathers release and it might make you have Allergies or something, plus they might like being showered, just make a perch, put it in a tub, and a little water-sprayer from the hardware store.

well you need to talk to it maybe put on some clothes and ask them if they like it or not or let them fly around in your house just don't let it get away outside just make sure they no you love them.

I always talk to my moms African grey and Im the one who feeds and waters it. I let her out almost everyday. If she lets me I will rub her head and over time she learned to trust me. Just be nice and it will start to trust you it's like taking care of a little kid. African Greys have the mind of a four yr old. hope this helps :)
