How do you make a birds nest?

You don't "build a nest" persay... you get a nesting box. You install the nesting box in the far corner of the cage (safer there) and let the parrots work their magic. You can get the boxes at any good Pet Store, and don't forget to put something soft for bedding (also available at said Pet Store). If you don't know what to do exactly, DON'T GET THE BOX. Raising baby parrots is a tough, demanding job. If you don't know what you're doing, stay away from it.

What I think is that you should get a box and measure it so it wont be too big or small to fit in the cage, then you cut out the hole carefully so it wont be to small or big for the parakeets and you could decorate it if you want then your parakeets will be happy in their box that you made.:-))

you can take some yarn or thread and sew a nest, or you could get a plastic bowl cut to a size of your liking and then put some cotton or a soft cloth and a cover cloth and then use a small wire or tape to old the cover cloth on.

Budgies don't make a nest like other birds. In the wild they prefer a shallow hole in the ground or in a hollow tree.
