From experience, I've seen resident Canada geese habitat altered by large greenhouse, condo and mall facilities. The lights that burn 24-7 confuse them as they fly over to land for feeding and nesting. Their nesting areas and flying paths and patterns were altered requiring flocks to move on. Canada geese are like many other species where their young will return where they originated from, ie. fish and penguins. When their locations of origin are disrupted, who knows what happens to them.
Large facilities like malls and condos can be seen to have a small flock of geese land on the roofs and parking lots and even parking garages. When they nest on the roof of a large office building, hatch-lings will likely not survive as water and food close to the nest is not available.
I'm a fan of wild life but I disagree with interfering with keeping the stupid species alive; the smart ones fly south or north the way nature dictates.
