Australia is known for its many species of parrots, all of which have the characteristic hooked or curved bill unique to parrots. They include:

Cockatoos, such as sulphur-crested cockatoo, red-tailed black cockatoo, yellow-tailed black cockatoo, gang-gang cockatoo, corella, galah, cockatiel, glossy black cockatoo, Major Mitchell cockatoo

Lorikeets, such as Rainbow lorikeet, Scaly-breasted lorikeet

Rosellas, such as King Parrot, Crimson rosella, Pale-headed rosella, Eastern rosella

Other parrots, such as Bourke's parrot, Budgerigar (budgie), ground parrot, Turquoise parrot (turquoisine), Green parrot, Regent parrot, Rock parrot, Mulga parrot

There are other parrots within these groups, but they are too many to list.

Australia also has various Birds of Prey, which have hooked bills for tearing the flesh of their prey. These birds include the Wedge-tailed eagle, various species of falcons, kites, buzzards, goshawks and sparrowhawks.
