These voracious seabirds were given the moniker 'The Mormon Air Force' Because they saved the crops of early settlers near The Great Salt Lake from swarms of locusts. Total annihilation of the crops was imminent when flocks and flocks of seagulls descended -seemingly from nowhere- and would gobble up the locusts until their little seagull bellies were full, then regurgitate (vomit), and start in eating again. What a sight to have seen! -Sorta makes you wish you had seen it for yourself, doesn't it? What a sight to behold!
