If these informational nuggets contain items that must be calculated, they are frequently called axioms. If they are merely statements to which the answers are obvious comparisons thay are often called cliches.

My current most hated statement is this (source unknown): "It is what it is". I feel it is the dumbest possible statement one can make.

I also update some of the old sayings to suit my opinion. Im my office hangs a sign that states the old saying "You learning something new every day" and then below it is my update: You learn something new every day, If you pay attention!!
