In 2013 we saw hummingbirds visiting our feeders (in South western Illinois , Madison County) in early april. In 2014 we saw one hummingbird in late April but no more as of May 7. Put your hummingbird feeders out in early April with extra high sugar content to attract the hummers that are passing through.

Usually they arrive around Mothers Day weekend, give or take a few days depending on the weather. I'm in Kosciusko County near Warsaw and we've had several at our feeders at sunset.
