Not all parrots live in the rainforest, Many are from grasslands, semi-arid areas, bushland, forests or even the desert (there are several species of desert-dwelling parrot in Australia).

Parrots live wherever there is a food source that suits their needs. In the case of rainforest parrots, they feed on the fruits, nuts, nectar, berries, plant life and sometimes even fungi of the rainforest.
