Budgies have excellent eye sight!!! They can see colors humans cannot...and your new budgie sees the seeds and water dish. He/she is just being cautious in their new surroundings. They have had something to eat & drink, otherwise they would not have survived this long.
When they are feeling more secure in their new surroundings you will see them eat.
The key with birds is PATIENCE, PATIENCE, PATIENCE!!!!
if your budgie keeps leaving her chicks its probably because she is to young to breed. most breeders wait until their budgie is about one year old before they breed them. it is best to wait until your budgie is 18 months before breeding them
if you have a budgie for quite awhile and then get another budgie your original budgie will get territorial and attack the newer bird. If this is the case you need to get to cages and slowly show the new budgie to the older budgie. keep doing it again and again until eventually you should be able to keep the two birds in one cage.
Usually until it gets all of its feathers.
You should make a budgie budget! Complete with monthly goals that motivate you to save little by little until you can buy beautiful, boisterous budgies! Also, keep an eye on online classifieds- sometimes you can find owners who want to find a home for their budgie for free!
It was yesterday :] If yesterday was Dec. 12, the answer would be 365. :)
hasta ayer = until yesterday
She might. Budgies can be unpredictable. It is not really worth the risk until the baby budgie is old enough to look after itself.
Get it to trust your hand before trying to pet it. Everyday put your hand in its cage and rest it there gently. Let the budgie see that the hand is not there to hurt it. Each day put your hand closer to the budgie when you rest it in the cage until one day when you can reach out your finger and the budgie doesn't move away from it. Then gently and very slowly stroke the budgie's chest. This should help it to get used to you touching it within 1 to 3 weeks, depending on the bird. Patience is everything with this. Also, speak softly to the bird when you approach it so it feels at ease.
The Latin word meaning "yesterday" is heri.
Take it to the vet immediately. Pet birds generally do not show signs of illness until they are very sick. This is to avoid becoming prey to another animal. If you see your budgie spending more time on the bottom of the cage, notice he/she is less active, or find that he/she is "fluffed up" a lot it (They do this generally when they are sleeping, but a healthy budgie will usually tuck his head behind his wing), is time for a trip to your local board certified avian veterinarian.
record what you want it to say on a recorder then play it often. Or just repeat stuff over and over and over until he learns.
