no you just need air flow
there isn't any water involed its an air cooled motor atleast mine is.
only if there is a serious engine problem. A boat motor is cooled by lake water instead of a radiator and coolant system. The lake water is pumped into the motor's cooling tubes and pumped out through the exhaust. The only way I can see that there would be water in the oil is if the motor has a blown head gasket or a cracked valve.
Need additional information...Thanks.
Most outboard boat motors are water cooled to my knowledge

Running a boat motor out of water can cause damage to the motor due to overheating. The water in the lake or ocean helps to cool the motor while it is running. Without water, the motor can overheat and potentially seize up, leading to costly repairs or replacement. It is important to always run a boat motor in water to prevent damage.
