To adjust a Mercury Marine carburetor, first ensure the engine is warm and running at idle. Begin by adjusting the idle speed screw to achieve the desired RPM, usually around 600-700 RPM for most outboards. Next, fine-tune the mixture by turning the mixture screws in or out until the engine runs smoothly without hesitation, ideally achieving a steady sound and response. Always refer to the specific model's manual for precise settings and adjustments.
