It was a gift to the collection of the Metropolitian Museum of Art in New York City, but the painting, "Inside the Bar" (1883), is not currently on exhibit.
It looks like a Winslow Homer painting but I have yet to find the exact picture. It may not exist.
Belowis a link to the painting. I have been looking for this for quite some time and there is quite a lot of wrong information about it. Gus Van Sant is indeed the artist, not Homer Winslow as is commonly reported.
Panoramic View of Torpedo Boat 'Winslow' and Yacht 'Constitution' - 1903 was released on: USA: May 1903
Winslow Homer's most famous artwork is arguably "The Gulf Stream," painted in 1899. This dramatic piece depicts a lone African American man in a small boat surrounded by turbulent waters and a menacing shark, symbolizing struggle and resilience. Another notable work is "Breezing Up (A Fair Wind)," which captures the carefree spirit of youth and the beauty of sailing. Homer's mastery of light and his ability to convey emotion through natural scenes solidify his reputation as a leading figure in American art.
The painting of Dionysus in a boat was actually not a painting but instead a Kylix. A kylix is an old Greek drinking vessel.
