It could be that the softener has developed an internal mechanical fault so that it is not fully shutting-off the flow of water to the brine tank after the regeneration cycle has been completed for the softener's ion-exchange resin granules which are held in its "resin tank".

A likely cause of the trouble could be that the softener's "brine valve" is now failing to completely shut off the flow of water. It might be caused by a component such as a valve sealing washer on the valve module that you may be able to access and repair as a D-I-Y job.

A different cause of the problem could be that the internal "resin tank" - which contains the ion-exchange resin granules - has developed a crack or split which allows water to leak at high pressure into the brine tank. The resin tank is not usually repairable so, if that is the cause, a new resin tank is required. The cost of the work required to have a new tank fitted is unlikely to be worthwhile. It is usually much cheaper to buy a new water softener.

Is my tub leaking from the overflow drain?

To determine if your tub is leaking from the overflow drain, fill the tub with water and observe if the water level rises above the overflow drain. If water is leaking from the overflow drain while the tub is filled, then it is likely that the tub is leaking from the overflow drain.

What are the steps you would use to find the volume of an irregular solid in an oveflow can?

To find the volume of an irregular solid using the overflow can method, you would first fill the overflow can with water and measure the initial volume. Next, you would submerge the irregular solid in the overflow can, causing the water to overflow. Measure the new volume of water in the overflow can with the solid submerged. Finally, you would subtract the initial volume from the final volume to find the volume of the irregular solid.

Has it a diesel overflow if fill up to much?

What is the purpose of an overflow valve in a toilet and how does it prevent water from overflowing?

The purpose of an overflow valve in a toilet is to prevent water from overflowing by providing a secondary pathway for excess water to escape. When the water level in the tank rises too high, the overflow valve allows the water to flow into the toilet bowl instead of continuing to fill the tank, thus preventing overflow.

Why is there already water in toilet bowls?

Under what circumstance? New toilet, when you turn the water on, water goes down the overflow tube to fill the bowl. You don't have to flush it the first time to fill the bowl.

How do you find volume of using an measuring cylinder and a overflow jar?

To find the volume of an object using a measuring cylinder and an overflow jar, first fill the overflow jar to the brim with water and place it in a container to catch any overflow. Submerge the object in the overflow jar, allowing the displaced water to spill into the container. Measure the collected overflow water using the measuring cylinder; this volume corresponds to the volume of the submerged object. The volume of the water displaced is equal to the volume of the object.

Why does the toilet randomly overflow when not in use?

The toilet may overflow when not in use due to a clog in the pipes, a faulty fill valve, or a problem with the flapper valve. These issues can cause water to continuously flow into the toilet bowl, leading to an overflow.

You have to fill the overflow tank as the radiator does not have a fill cap. Run the engine as you fill the overflow tank but just up to the marks on the tank.

Fill a container with water. Carefull put the object into the container and collect the overflow of water. Measure the water displaced See "Eureka"

Why didn't the overflow tube prevent an overflow when the float fell off?

your water pressure/volume is to much for the overflow to handle.after repair try to turn shut off valve under toilet to slow water fill in tank.test by holding down float while refilling toilet.
