(Geo)thermal power stations work by drilling a hole kilometers into the surface where the temperature is around 300 Cel. They then send water down the hole, and because of the almost instantaneous boiling, steam rises out at an enormous pressure which is used to drive the steam turbines which in return, generate the KW's of electricity. Efficient stations would then condense that water and use it again. This form of energy is really only useful in places where the heat underground is only not too deep since it costs a lot of money to drill deep holes underground. - Matt. Australia
The oil thermal plant refers to the chemical energy that is stored in the fossil fuel like the natural gas, oil shale, fuel oil, and coal. They are usually successively converted into thermal energy, mechanical energy, and electrical energy.
A Furnace works by heating the power plant with the fuel provided you idiot... how else do you think it works??
Kalpakkam has both Thermal reactor (Madras Atomic Power Station) and Fast Breeder Reactor -FBTR and PFBR (Under construction). In MAPS (thermal reactor) it is Heavy Water (D2O) Which acts as a coolant as well as moderator, where as in Fast Breeder Test Reactor (FBTR) and Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (PFBR) Sodium (Na) is used as coolant. Since there should not any moderators for fast reactors D2O will not be used as coolant in fast reactors.

Thermal power station of 210mw will work on principle of modified Rankine cycle
The main fuel used in the Kayamkulam Thermal Power Station is natural gas. It is a combined-cycle power plant that primarily relies on natural gas to generate electricity efficiently and with lower emissions compared to other fossil fuels.
Wanakbori Thermal Power Station is the name of the electric power station in India.
The list of thermal power plants in India include the Mundra Thermal Power Station in Gujarat; and Vindhyachal Thermal Power Station in Madhya Pradesh. Also included are Mundra Ultra Mega Power Plant, Talcher Super Thermal Power Plant, and Sipat Power Plant.
Some major thermal power plants in India are located in states like Maharashtra (e.g. Chandrapur Super Thermal Power Station), Gujarat (e.g. Mundra Thermal Power Station), Madhya Pradesh (e.g. Sasan Ultra Mega Power Plant), and Uttar Pradesh (e.g. Anpara Thermal Power Station). These plants play a significant role in the country's electricity generation.
