I honestly think it would because a catalyst lowers the activation energy, the amount of energy needed to complete the reaction. Since the activation energy is lower, it is absorbing less energy. I guess if its becoming less endothermic, its becoming more exothermic. Hope this helped!

Would a catalyst cause an endothermic reaction to become exothermic?

No, a catalyst does not change the overall energy of a reaction. It only lowers the activation energy required for the reaction to occur. Therefore, a catalyst cannot change an endothermic reaction into an exothermic one.

What will the profile for endothermic and exothermic with the catalyst added?

In the presence of a catalyst, both endothermic and exothermic reactions will have their activation energy lowered, allowing them to proceed more quickly. For endothermic reactions, the overall energy profile shows a reactant state with lower energy than the products, but the catalyst reduces the energy barrier for the transition state. In exothermic reactions, the reactants start at a higher energy level than the products, and again, the catalyst facilitates the reaction without altering the energy difference between reactants and products. Thus, while the catalyst speeds up the reaction, it does not affect the overall energy change (ΔH) for either type of reaction.

Identify the metal used as the catalyst in the Haber process?

its Fe- iron. It is used as a catalyst to speed up the exothermic reaction between N2 and H2 to make NH3.

How do chemicals make exothermic reaction?

j

Can an exothermic reaction make ice?

yes.

Can an enzyme make an endothermic reaction exothermic?

False. Not necessarily. Do not confuse kinetics with thermodynamics. Although an enzyme as a catalyst decreases the activation energy of the reaction, this says nothing about whether the reaction is ultimately endothermic or exothermic.

A reaction that releases energy as it occurs is classified as?

A reaction that releases energy is exothermic.

When paint dries is it considered an exothermic reaction?

No, the drying of paint is considered a physical change, not a chemical reaction. The drying involves the evaporation of the solvent in the paint, and it is not an exothermic reaction because it does not involve the release of heat.

Is the reaction endothermic or exothermic, and what is the enthalpy of the reaction?

The reaction is exothermic, meaning it releases heat. The enthalpy of the reaction is negative, indicating that it is exothermic.

What is the type of heat reaction which occurs when heat is given off by the reaction?

Heat is released during an exothermic reaction.

A chemical reaction in which heat is released is?

exothermic reaction .

A reaction that releases energy in the form of heat?

An exothermic reaction releases energy in the form of heat. This type of reaction typically results in a rise in temperature in the surrounding environment. Examples include combustion and neutralization reactions.
