Well, honey, first things first, dab the area with a mixture of cold water and a bit of laundry detergent. Let it sit for a few minutes, then scrub with a brush. Rinse with cold water, and pat dry with a towel. If that doesn't do the trick, you might need to call in the professionals - no shame in that game!
To clean an old stained carpet, start by dabbing the stain with a mixture of water and dish soap. Blot the area with a clean cloth. For tougher stains, use a mixture of vinegar and water or a carpet cleaning solution. Always test a small, hidden area first to ensure it does not damage the carpet fibers.
To remove semen stains from bedsheets, start by blotting up as much of the stain as possible with a clean cloth. Then, rinse the area with cold water to help lift the stain. Next, apply a stain remover or a mixture of laundry detergent and water, and wash the sheets according to the care instructions.
One of the best stain lifters for carpet is baking soda, not only does it lift some of those stains out, but it will also deodorize it. If the stains are too old and set in, another solution would be renting a carpet cleaning company to do all your floors.
Hard water is a term that means the water has lots of minerals - hard water stains are solid deposits of those minerals left behind when the water evaporates. The water initially dissolved those minerals because it was acidic - a weak acid such as lemon juice or vinegar is usually pretty good at removing these stains; or a scrubbing paste made of baking soda and water.
Once any material (wine, food, grease etc) has touched any fabric (carpet, upholstery, clothing etc) a stain begins to form. The trick of stain removal is to get to the stain as fast as possible, before it has time to set. For example, when wine falls onto your carpet much of the initial spill is picked up right away. If the homeowner chooses not to hire a professional cleaner, but instead leaves the stain alone, the wine will bond with the fabric. The stronger the bond, the harder the stain becomes to remove. Some things can prevent the stain from setting, like cleaning products. If you have a wine stain on an item of clothing, and you put the item of clothing into the dryer before the stain is removed, then the heat from the dryer will strengthen the chemical bond of the stain and make the stain harder to remove. One very important thing in stain prevention is to always blot, and never rub an area with a stain. Rubbing the stain, even if you're trying to remove it, will rub the stain into the fabric, and make it harder to remove. Time, heat, rubbing and improper stain removal will always make stains harder to remove.
Cleaning dirty old carpet is a challenge because once dirt and sand reach the bottom of the carpet, it's almost impossible to get it out. You can clean carpets yourself with a rented carpet cleaner. These machines use two methods for cleaning: hot water extraction or an agitator brush. Preferably your machine has both. No matter how clean you keep your residence, old carpets build up stains and appear dingy. Standard cleaning brightens the carpet and removes the stains. While numerous carpet cleaning solutions and stain removers contain harsh chemicals and emit strong odors, a few common domestic products can clean your carpets efficiently.

Vacuum your carpets regularly. Clean up any spills as soon as possible by blotting them with a clean, dry cloth. Scrubbing carpets can damage the fibers. Old stains will usually require chemical treatment or professional cleaning. Spot Shot is especially good for removing set in stains, but it can lighten colored carpts. Always test any product in an inconspicuous area.

Carpet Cleaners can get out many stains, but for exteme or rare stains they will have to be treated with some chemicals (mostly acidic). If you can afford it or if it is time for your carpet to be cleaned (approximately every 9 months), I suggest that you get a professional carpet cleaner. They have much more powerful equipments then the carpet cleaners that you can rent from your local supermarket. If you decide to call a carpet cleaning company make sure to mention the stain and the severity of the stain. You can get many stains out of carpets, but I've yet to find one that takes out dog urine stains (or perhaps a good old heave up if it's acidic.) Even if you manage to catch the damage done to your carpet at the time the pet urinates or coughs up bile, it gets into the foam underpad of the carpet. The best thing to do for this type of stain is get a mini (very strong) corded steam cleaner that is handy to use and get the stain up this way. Many products on the market will clean up most normal stains (even blood) with the exception of rust, mustard, spaghetti sauce (these dye the carpet quickly) tar, pet urine. You can phone a good carpet cleaning business and the can get up many other stains (at least the tar.) Go to your hardware stores for good carpet cleaners and although they are a little more expensive they will get many more stains out than the usual brand names in your grocery store. Whatever type of stain you have go on: go to google Then type in (for example) How do you get out spaghetti stains from carpets? I had red wax drip off my candle during Xmas, and it landed on my pale beige carpet. I took a warm iron and clean paper towel; put the paper towel over the wax and held the iron over it for a few seconds and continued this method until all the wax was off. Also, commercial carpet cleaners can also steam clean these stains out for you. Another great cleaner is Genesis 950. If you are looking for a carpet cleaner to remove pet stains, food stains, grease stains, dirt and dust, Genesis 950 can make your carpet look like new. You can use it in any machine, however I am partial to the Bissell Pro heat as I have had great experiences with it. The 950 is great for both old and new stains. It is also green and environmentally friendly, so you are not putting harsh chemicals in your carpet. This is a huge plus for anyone with kids or pets.
Yes.They clean it off, improve it, make it newer, and send it off.

Yes it can and get a good rug shampoo. If you are in the U.S., I don't know if you have "Home Depot" there, but they put out a great machine and also sell the best carpet shampoo called "ZEP". If your carpet is super dirty then it's best to rent a commercial steam cleaner because they do a better job than the ones the consumer can buy. It isn't very expensive and they may ask for deposit to be sure you bring it back.
