600 B.C. Thales of Miletus writes about amber becoming charged by rubbing, he described what we now call static electricity. Additionally, this is a discovery and not an invention.

Electricity was not invented it is a natural phenomenon just like water and fire.

Thomas Edison invented the lightbulb, making electricity accessible to the masses, in 1879.

electricity was not invented it is a natural phenomena just like water etc.

Additional answer.

Just as a point of interest you can't have 'a phenomena'. In the singular the word is 'phenomenon'. Like 'criteria', where a lot of people use it as a singular word, the singular is actually 'criterion'

It was invented in the late 1800s.
