on the pH scale, a base is a low number, like 0-6. an acid is a high number, 8-14. if a solution is acidic, pouring alkalines (bases) into it will make it more basic.

An acid-base reaction that leaves no excess H+ or OH-

What do you mean by neutralization reaction according to Arrhenius acid base concept?

A neutralization reaction is a reaction between a base and an acid; the products are a salt and water.

In what reaction an acid and a base produce a salt and a water?

Called an 'acid base' reaction or a 'proton transfer' reaction.Only when a precipitate (of an insoluble salt) is formed, it is called a 'salt formation' reaction.

What products are formed when an acid reacts with a base?

the reaction in which an acid reacts with a base is called neutralization reaction. in a neutralization reaction salt and water is formed. acid+base=salt+h2o in neutralization reaction anion from acid reacts with a cation from base to form salt for eg;hcl+naoh=nacl+h2os
