humans and acid
An oil pastel is a type of substance. It is made up of pigments, a binder, and a neutral oil.
Oil soluble means that a substance can dissolve in oil. When a substance is oil soluble, it can mix well with oils and fats, but not with water. This affects the properties of the substance by making it more compatible with oil-based products and less likely to mix with water-based substances.
A mixture of oil and water is a mixture, not an element. If by substance you mean not a pure substance (element or compound), then oil and water would be a substance (that is a mixture). If you mean oil and water separately, then oil is a mixture of hydrocarbons, and water is a compound (pure substance).
One substance with a specific gravity less than water is oil. This is why oil tends to float on top of water.
The most effective substance for dissolving motor oil is a degreaser or solvent specifically designed for removing oil and grease. These products are formulated to break down the oil molecules and make it easier to clean up.

Olive oil is a food substance, Sugar is a food substance etc.
yes it is
Oil
Oil is just basically fat.
Oil is just basically fat.
That depends what acid, and what oil, you are talking about. Basically the less dense substance will float on the denser substance.
That would depend upon the density of the oil (which will depend upon temperature), how absorbant of oil the substance was and how deep the oil is. Assuming the substance does not absorb any of the oil then depending upon the oil various things would happen: In some oils such as Car oils, Coconut oil, Crude oil California, Linseed oil which all have a density less than 0.95 g/ml the substance would sink (unless the oil was not deep enough in which case the substance would sit on the bottom of the container and appear above the surface of the oil). In other oils such as Castor oil, Crude oil Mexican, Rosin oil which all have a density greater than 0.95g/ml the substance would float.
